This will be a one evening workshop on the experimental and creative technique of Silver Mirroring your bw darkroom prints. There will be guided practical exercises in the darkroom, looking at the chemical process and useful tips for executing the specialized silver mirroring process.
The workshop instructor is visiting Oslo, from her home darkroom with Fotoverkstedet in Bergen, and we are super happy to welcome her here. Last year she held a similar workshop with CYAN darkroom, on the process of Indirect Silver Mirroring, which is a slightly different process. Then she talked about the alternative process of Direct Silver Mirroring and she has now stabilized this process well enough to also share this more effectiv method with us!
Darkroom 306b - Direct Silver Mirroring Toning
This workshop introduces an experimental technique of Silver Mirroring Toning on B&W darkroom prints, that is more stable than the Indirect Silver Mirroring process. It is suitable for participants with basic B&W printing skills who wish to explore a rarely taught process that transforms silver mirroring—from a type of photographic decay—into a striking metallic and aesthetic effect.
