The first round of the Nordic Analog Network artist exchange is juried!

Nordic Analog Network – darkroom exchange
The two open darkrooms “Mörk” in Helsinki/Finland and “CYAN” in Oslo/Norge have initiated an artist exchange where the members of the darkrooms can apply for an artist residency at the other darkroom.
The goal is to facilitate a sharing of contact and experience between photographers working with analogue processes.

The first rounds of applications have just finished and the jurying is now done.

CYAN darkroom is happy to announce that we want to invite the photographer Patrick Kuoppamäki from Helsinki. His works are based on experimentation and draw inspiration from architecture and plans to work on a series of minimalistic photoprints based on LED lights exposing the photographic paper directly in the darkroom.

Mörk darkroom is excited to invite Silvia De Giorgi from Oslo. Her work is concerned with notions of time and memory and is frequently influenced by archaeological research practices. She plans to explore the coastal area of Helsinki and photograph the shore line and gathered objects collected during walks in combination with documenting and photographing objects on display in the historical and ecological museums in town.

During the residency the photographers will get to experience the work practices in another community darkroom as well as the art scene in a Nordic capital. In Helsinki the photographer will live in an international art residency and in Oslo the Federation of Photoartist´s guest appartment is made available for the visitor.

The program is supported by Nordic Culture Fund, and organized in collaboration with FFF and HIAP.
