Nordic Analog Network online Meet the Artists

  • CYAN mørkerom 32 Trondheimsveien Oslo, 0560 Norway (map)

Nordic Analog Network is a collaboration between community darkrooms in the Nordic countries, organized by CYAN studio in partnership with the Finnish Darkroom Association.
We now invite to the Nordic Analog Network´s 2026 Meet The Artists open online meeting.
The 6 photographers who were invited as artists in residence at the Network´s darkrooms in 2026 will present their work and talk about their experience at the different darkrooms.

Deadline to apply for the 2027 residency program is 20th November and the 6 residency periods are spread out through 2027.

The Darkroom Exchange is the artist residency program organized by the Nordic Analog Network. In 2026 6 artists were invited to take part in individual artists residencies at 6 different darkrooms all over the Nordic countries.
The photographers were all free to work with their own individual projects and they got to meet the local communities of analog photographers at the darkroom they visited.

Now we are curious to hear how they all experienced their visit and see them share the results and the work they made.

The 2026 invited artists were:
Taylor Smith (NO) visited Filmverkstaden (FI)
Rebecca Krasnik (DK) visited SIM (IS)
Theo Elias  (S) visited CYAN (NO)
Sirja Moberg (FI) visited Lademoen Kunstnerverksteder (N)

Each of the darkrooms have different set up to offer visiting artists. Some have colour labs or studiospace, some are in large towns, connected to photography centres, or international art communities and some are situated in quiet locations with fewer people around.
You should read up on the darkroom you want to visit to see if they offer what you need.

The Nordic Analog Network and the Darkroom Exchange is organized with support from the Nordic Culture Point and Norwegian Arts Council.
